SEA at Mar-a-Lago 2025 Recap

Thank you to the over 120 attendees of our Mar-a-Lago Fundraiser. It was an action packed two days. It started with a fundraiser for Representative Andy Harris (R-MD-1). Dr. Harris spoke about his efforts to get the Certified Seasonal Employer language into the reconciliation package and his new role as head of the House Freedom Caucus. He said that he has built up tremendous goodwill with the White House after delivering the votes of the Freedom Caucus members for the FY25 Continuing Resolution and that intends to use this leverage to deliver greater certainty in the H-2B program.

Unfortunately, due to the delayed Senate CR vote, Senator Tuberville was unable to join us Thursday evening. In place, SEA held a panel discussion with Peter Petrina, a board member who handles Mar-a-Lago’s H-2B filings, and Caroline Wren of Tactic Global. We discussed the expected differences between Biden and Trump and SEA’s proactive plan to work with the Trump administration on permanent H-2B reform. SEA plans to work closely with congressional allies parallel with the White House officials to obtain greater certainty for long-time, compliant users of the H-2B program.

Thank you to our donors and to fundraising extraordinaire Debbie Powers for securing over $50,000 in donations for Senator “Coach” Tommy Tuberville. As a result, we raised over $70,000 to benefit the campaign of the Senator. We also raised over $28,000 for Congressman Andy Harris. In addition, we raised over $65,000 for our 2025 advocacy campaign.
